First Baptist Church Student Ministry exists to fulfill

The Great Commission by loving students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ!

At its heart Student ministry is no different than any other ministry. Since this is true the Student Ministry is challenging young people to live holy lives pleasing to God, and train them to become leaders of the Church. This is done by fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) in which believers are commanded by Christ to make disciples and teach them to obey his commands. The Student Ministry wants more than just Students "accepting Christ" (which is the beginning); we want a total life transformation! There is a difference in "believing" and "living" when it comes to the Christian life, and the desire is for our students to LIVE IT!

  

Love is what sets the Christian apart (John 13:34-35).  The Student Ministry wants to model and teach the students the love that God has lavished upon us; his unconditional, transforming, supernatural love!

We do not want Students to have a “religious experience.” Our desire is for students to experience the transforming work of Christ in an ongoing way. Its not enough to have ‘fire insurance’ our students need to grow into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ!
